Fermented and aged in a mix of stainless steel and older French oak, the 2016 Pinot Gris features ripe aromas of stone fruit and melon, plus just enough apple and citrus to keep things lively. It's medium-bodied and soft in texture, but with a dusting of cinnamon and touches of tannin and citrus zest on the long finish.

The 2015 Pinot Gris offers ripe pear and golden delicious apple notes with nuances of nutmeg, anise and straw. Medium-bodied, it has an uncomplicated palate of apple and spice with modest acidity and good length.

The 2014 Pinot Gris has a nose of bruised apples and pears with wet wool and sulfide hints. Medium-bodied and dry, the palate is somewhat oily and bland with a clipped finish.

The 2012 Pinot Gris has a warm apple, poached pear and apricot-laced nose with a butterscotch undercurrent. Medium-bodied, it gives a lovely yeasty / bready character in the palate that lends a savory edge to the apple and stone fruit flavors before finishing with good length.

The 2011 Pinot Gris offers youthfully mute notes of fresh pears and golden delicious apple slices with hints of allspice and baking bread. Full-bodied and dry on the palate, it has a lovely creamy texture and a good concentration of apple and spice flavors, finishing long. Drink this one now through 2014. I tasted a few of Seresin’s single vineyard 2009 Pinot Noirs again this year, to check how they were developing now that they were entering their drinking window.
