Deep purple-black in color, the 2010 Shingleback Unedited Shiraz has a vibrant, youthful nose of freshly crushed blackberries, blackcurrants and mulberries over nuances of cedar, violets, cinnamon toast and nutmeg. The palate reveals a huge, very full bodied wine packed with rich, ripe black berry flavors and toasty cedar supported with a solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and crisp acidity. The finish is very long and primary. Still very tight-knit and with the cedar poking through, it really needs 1-2 more years in bottle and should drink best 2014 to 2022+. Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 Shingleback Unedited Shiraz gives pronounced notes of creme de cassis, black cherry compote and warm blueberries with underlying hints of ground cumin, fenugreek, cloves and star anise. Very big, full bodied and powerful in the mouth, it has concentrated berry preserve and spice flavors that are well supported by medium to firm grainy tannins and refreshing acidity, finishing long and pure.
