The 2017 Envoy Johnson Vineyard Pinot Noir is savory and fresh, with (very) lively acidity in the mouth. The wine is aging very slowly, but it is certainly tethered to some very strong acidic rails in the mouth. There’s plenty of time to go. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Fresher and more vibrant than the Outpost Vineyard, the 2015 Envoy Johnson Vineyard Pinot Noir offers aromas of mixed red and black fruit, hints of cola and plenty of dried spices. It's medium-bodied, with supple tannins and a lightness and lift to the finish that encourages second (and third and fourth) sips.

Pale ruby colored with a touch of purple, the 2014 Envoy Johnson Vineyard Pinot Noir has a restrained, earthy nose, giving notes of underbrush, damp soil and moss with a faint red cherry core. The light to medium-bodied palate is understated, with delicate earth-laced flavors and a savory chewiness to the finish.

Medium ruby colored, the 2012 Envoy Johnson Vineyard Pinot Noir presents an impressive core of vibrant black and red cherry aromas with hints of red currants, violets and cloves plus a waft of wild thyme. Framed with lively acid and a medium level of fine-grained tannins, there are tons of sweet red berry flavors in the mouth and a provocative herbal edge that nicely compliments the density. It finishes long.
