Less than 200 cases were produced of the 2006 Chardonnay – but what a wine! It presents a wonderful nose of ripe apricots, cashew nuts, meal, sulphides, lemon tart, warm pineapple, ginger and some straw, plus a little chalk. Medium-high acidity gives just enough freshness to the medium to full-bodied, rich, viscous, concentrated palate. Very long in the finish, this is delicious now but will likely develop and cellar to 2017+. Husband and wife team Steve and Monique Lubiana are at the helm of this small, family run operation just north of Hobart. The estate has been organically managed for 7-8 years and is in the process of converting to biodynamics. Average annual production is around 10,000 cases. No known US importer.
