The 2021 Roble is grapey, straightforward, fruit-driven, ripe (14.5% alcohol) and a bit toasty, with abundant, slightly dusty tannins and some earthy rusticity. It was bottled after four months in French and American oak barrels. 90,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2022.

The creamy 2019 Roble has ripe berry and herb aromas intermixed with some toast and spice. It's juicy and round, with ripe flavors and abundant tannins. Better with food. 90,000 bottles. It was bottled in March 2021 after four months in oak.

The 2010 Tamaral Roble is sourced from Penafiel and Pesquera, has a sweet nose of maraschino and blueberry. The palate is very sweet but the precocious blueberry and cassis fruit is matched by the acidity, to render this a pleasing, opulent Roble. Drink now-2014. Founded in 1997 in Penafiel, Bodegas y Vinedos Tamaral is a small family run winery. Winemakers Nicola Tucci and Francisco J. Gallego farm around 50 hectares and I found their wines commendable, with just the La Mira showing a slight imbalance between fruit and oak. No known US importer.

The 2005 Roble was aged for 6 months in 25% new French and American oak. It is dark ruby/purple-colored with aromas of cedar, violets, spice box, mineral, and blackberry. Medium-bodied, the wine has plenty of spicy black fruits, decent depth, and 2-3 years of aging potential. The finish is slightly compressed. Drink it through 2017.
