In all of the Te Awa offerings, winemaker Jenny Dobson emphasizes texture, and nowhere is this more important than in her Merlot. This is rich, ripe, round and lush—almost fruitcake-like—without ever seeming heavy. Black cherry fruit is dusted with dried herbs and spices, then fades gently on the finish.
