Deep ruby-purple, the 2021 Syrah Tensley Vineyard has a deep core of cassis, prosciutto, warm chocolate, thyme and aniseed. The palate is full-bodied with gently chewy tannins, bursts of refreshing acidity that highlight floral perfume,and a very long, layered finish. It could use a few more years to unwind in bottle.

Deep ruby-purple, the 2020 Syrah Tensley Vineyard has slowly emerging aromas of blackcurrants, iron, aniseed and turned earth with top notes of dried orange peel. The medium-bodied palate is bright and spicy, and it finishes long and ethereal.

A finished barrel sample, the 2018 Syrah Tensley Vineyard is deep purple-black with scents of chargrill, coffee bean, beef drippings, cedar, sage, violet, lilac and stone with a core of ripe, lush blue and black fruits. The palate is full-bodied with impenetrable dark fruits, a chewy frame and juicy acidity to lift the long, chalky finish. This shows potential but is a bit disjointed at this youthful stage.
