The 2009 Carmenere Gran Reserva contains 5% Petit Verdot in its blend. The wine spent 12 months in new and first use French oak barriques and over a year in bottle prior to release. Notions of wood smoke, Asian spices, incense, lavender, plum, and blueberry set the stage for a savory, spicy, medium-bodied Carmenere with a surprising sense of elegance. Balanced and lengthy with enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years, it will be at its best from 2013 to 2019. Terra Noble is a family-owned bodega founded in 1992. It owns four farms in four different valleys as well managing a number of long-term grape contracts.Importer: Winebow, Inc, New York, NY; www.winebow.com
