The 2019 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard has a pale ruby-purple color and bright raspberry perfume with nuances of potpourri, blood orange and bitters. The palate is medium-bodied, chalky and refreshing with a detailed core of fruit and long, spicy finish.

Medium ruby-purple colored, the 2015 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is scented of cranberry sauce, red currant jelly and rose hip tea with hints of damp earth and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate gives plenty of chew to support the earthy layers, finishing with an herbal lift.

One of the standouts from the Santa Lucia Highlands releases is the 2014 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard. Beautifully defined, textured and seamless, with serious length on the finish, it has lots sappy underbrush, crushed rock and core of dark berry fruit. Aged 12 months in 56% new French oak, it should see its 10th birthday in fine form.

Possessing the classic minerality and masculine feel of this vineyard, Bill Brosseau’s 2013 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard is nevertheless still pretty and elegant, with lots of wild strawberry, darker raspberry, mulled spice and floral notes all emerging from the glass. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with bright, yet integrated acidity and thrilling purity, it’s a fabulous Pinot Noir that will have over a decade of longevity.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Garys’ Vineyard is solid, yet has a slightly stretched feel in its medium-bodied, focused, structured profile. Showing plenty of smoked earth, underbrush, mulberry and black cherry nuances, it should be better in another year, and have 3-4 years of longevity, maybe more depending on how it fills in.
