The Tommasi 2019 Lugana Riserva Le Fornaci offers citrus, cut grass and pear. The fruit is tonic and fresh in this vintage, and with the extra bottle time that gives this wine Riserva status, you also get light saffron spice and crushed limestone. I tasted number 2,511 of 10,776 bottles produced. There is a note of soft sweetness on the close.

Here's a new discovery from Tommasi. The 2018 Lugana Riserva Le Fornaci is quick to open in the glass, showing lots of bright intensity and fragrant orchard fruit. This is a bright, almost popping white wine that reveals a fragrant side of the sometimes-neutral Trebbiano di Lugana grape (also called Turbiana). This mid-weight, slightly creamy white wine is a terrific addition to the Tommasi family portfolio.
