The 2012 Waltraud is one of the few Rieslings produced in Spain and one of the very few successful ones, as the vineyard was planted years ago and the vines are now mature and produce naturally balanced grapes. The 2012 seems very young with aromas of lime, lemon zest, waxy apples and mineral aromas in a light palate with sharp acidity and a sweet and sour aftertaste. A very pleasant Riesling. Drink now-2019.
If there is a name that needs no introduction from the Spanish wine scene, it is Torres. They produce wines from different appellations (and countries!) but Penedes is their home. Their wines are always reliable and a safe option in restaurants.
