A blend of 42% Grenache, 32% Mourvèdre and 26% Syrah, the 2017 Pape is made with grapes grown in Walla Walla and Red Mountain. Opening to a nose of red plum, blackberry and dark cherry skin with a subtle hint of black pepper and dried lavender, the wine is delightfully vibrant in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is balanced with elegant tannins and exhibits a subtle dustiness across the mid-palate. The wine ends with a kiss of red and black spice and wild red berry essence on the lingering finish that evolves with time.

A blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault, the 2016 Pape has a focused core of red and black fruit on the nose, with hints of oak, crushed red and black peppercorn and a subtle minerality that wafts from the glass. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is clean, correct and focused, with wild strawberries and subtle herbs and spices. The wine finishes with a firm line of minerality and black pepper that lingers with precision and a pleasing depth of flavor. It is surprisingly good and overdelivers for the price, and it will be amazing with food! Only 800 cases were produced.

A Southern Rh?ne-styled blend, the 2015 Pape is also firm, drying and lacking in fruit, concluding with a somewhat heady and astringent finish.

Offering more spice, cracked peppercorn, blackberry and roasted herbs, the 2013 Slice of Pape (40% Syrah, 34% Mourvèdre and the rest Grenache) is medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully textured, with that balance and purity that's always present in these wines.

Made from 50% Grenache, 26% Mourvèdre and 24% Syrah, the 2012 Slice of Pape shows the house style with its voluptuous, sexy texture and ripe aromas and flavors. Chocolate, smoked herbs, earth and ample dark fruits are the buzz words here, and it’s ideal for drinking over the coming 5-6 years.
