This is one of three new single-vineyard Malbecs from venerable Trapiche, and it proves that with rich, old-vine fruit winemaker Daniel Pi can make ultramodern vino that will please New World palates the world over. This particular bottling is a potent brew of well-oaked juice that shows wintergreen, menthol and a ton of blackberry, black cherry and coffee. It isn’t fooling around, that’s for sure.
