The 2014 Romagna Albana Secco Vigna Rocca is a reasonably dense and thick white wine with lots of glycerin and thick, ripe fruit flavors. The bouquet shows exotic fruit, cantaloupe melon, dried apricot and blanched almond. The Albana grape delivers thickness and fatty intensity. There is not much acidity but there is just enough to keep the wine from feeling too heavy.

This dry expression of Albana di Romagna opens with a luminous golden color and thick aromas of lemon zest, apricot and passion fruit. The wine offers a thick, creamy mouthfeel that would stand up to shellfish or fried calamari.——M.L.(3/1/2012)—— 87
