The 2021 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard is elegant and expressive this vintage, with singular botanical nuances that give it a lot of personality. Its aromas open significantly as it spends time in the glass, from a core of red cherry jam to wafts of fernet, wildflowers and tea leaves. The palate is soft, supple and energetic, with detailed, nuanced fruit and an ethereal, layered finish. What a pleasure to drink!

The 2019 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard opens slowly to tar, red cherries, dried flowers and earth on the nose. Medium-bodied, the palate offers loads of fresh berry character with a soft, approachable, fresh structure and uplifted, perfumed finish. This has more to show with another year or two in bottle. 2,380 cases produced.

The 2018 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard has a medium ruby-purple color and gregarious aromas of warm peaches and apricots with loads of perfumed berry fruits and accents of licorice, bergamot, dried leaves and earth. The medium-bodied palate is silky and concentrated, packed with perfumed fruits and laced with bursts of freshness, and it finishes long and nuanced.

The Pesenti vineyard was planted in the 1920s on limestone soils. Deep ruby in color, the 2017 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard gives savory notes of charcuterie over dried brambly fruits and crushed black cherries with hints of dried soil. Medium to full-bodied, it offers savory-laced fruits in the mouth with soft, grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing long with pretty dried flowers notes. 2,400 cases produced.

From a site Turley owns in Paso Robles, the 2016 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard exhibits a boisterous, fruit-driven bouquet of ripe raspberries, cherries and kirsch. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and generous, with tangy acids and fine structuring tannins largely concealed in a sweet core of fruit, tangy acids, light structuring tannins asserting themselves on the back end. It's one of the most charming and immediate of this year's single-vineyard bottlings.
