The 1999 Nebbiolo d'Alba Sontuoso could easily pass for a top-notch Barolo. Its bouquet of sweet cherries, melted licorice, and tobacco is followed by a medium to full-bodied red with a certain viscosity, good density, and a texture and flavors reminiscent of cherry cough syrup.
