The 1990 Vinho De Mesa is a library wine, reviewed only as a checkpoint for aging potential and tasted only in Portugal. Mostly Tinta Roriz and Tinta Amarela, with a little Cabernet Sauvignon, this comes from an old vineyard the winery does not use any more. Nonetheless, it has held very well. Stern, a bit tight, mature but with little if any decay evident, this shows some tertiary aromatics early on, but also some complexity and drinks well and graciously. It does not stay at peak long, but it is a pretty nice performance for a wine of this age from a winery in this area. Drink now. Importer: Ingenium Wines, Huntsville, AL; tel.
