The 2015 Greco di Tufo Contrada Marotta is a terrific example of a wine that has taken on volume and girth with just a few years of extra aging. The wine sees ten months on the fine lees in stainless steel followed by 12 months in bottle before its commercial release. This mid-weight wine offers pretty mineral notes mixed with tropical fruit and Golden Delicious apple. Some 6,000 bottles were made. The Marotta vineyard is located at a high altitude (some 650 meters above sea level) with a mix of sandy limestone and dark clay soils.

The 2013 Greco di Tufo Contrada Marotta opens to sassy notes with straw and dried herb aromas that come on the heels of yellow fruit and tangerine skin. With genuine Greco flair, the wine is bright and crisp with fresh acidity and a streamlined style. Those extra years of bottle aging have given the wine a slightly greater degree of heft and richness, although the overall effect is tonic and compact.
