Initially it smells a bit green, like tobacco, lettuce and herbs mixed with berry fruit and chocolate. In the mouth, it’s ripped with acidity and a bit jagged, with herbal red fruit flavors along with a lemony, citrusy tang. The 2008 Gran Crucero Limited Edition is a blend of Carmenere, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French and American oak for 16 months, it displays an aromatic array of pain grille, earth minerals, Asian spices, and assorted black fruits.
