The 2006 La Primavera is made up of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Carmenere, and 10% Malbec aged for 18 months in 33% new French oak. Earthy minerals and oak dominate the nose. In the glass the wine is dense, structured, and full-bodied. There appears to be enough fruit to achieve balance but it will require several years of cellaring with no guarantees. If the wine comes together, my score will appear conservative.Importer: Laird & Co., Scobeyville, NJ; tel. (732) 542-0312
