Made from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc, this is a very dry, quite acidic white wine that scrapes and scours the palate with tartness. It shows flavors of citrus fruits, honeysuckle flowers and vanilla. A mighty fine white wine. Fills the much-needed niche of extreme dryness, acidity and restraint, which are the hallmarks of elegance. Call it the anti-Chardonnay. From Chiles Valley, this blend of 71% Semillon and 29% Sauvignon Blanc is one of the best wines of its type of the vintage. Cofermented and barrel aged in 15% new French oak, it shows extraordinary richness, and savory flavors of green and yellow tree fruits, green tea, cashew, Asian spices and gingery vanilla.
