The Malterdinger 2021 Bienenberg Sp?tburgunder GG opens with a charmingly round, aromatic and slightly toasty bouquet of red and dark cherries, berries, acorns, Iberico ham and wild boar. This cru includes the iron-rich Wildenstein that has not been produced in 2021 and makes up for one-third of this Bienenberg, of which only six 228-liter pièces were bottled in May this year. Rich and intense on the palate, this is a dense, full-bodied, rather masculine and big-shouldered Pinot with remarkably fine tannins, persistent fruit intensity and a long, sustainable mineral base and structure. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in October 2023.

The 2019 Bienenberg Sp?tburgunder GG opens irresistibly radiant and fragrant on the nose, with fascinating Pinot aromas of red cherries and berries. The palate is the materialization of silky elegance with very delicate juiciness finely spiced with cloves and fine astringency from the oak barrels. Unique in style. This Bienenberg is as firm as it is filigreed, yet it's still slightly drying on the finish. Very promising. Tasted in Wiesbaden at the end of August 2021.

Huber's 2017 Bienenberg Sp?tburgunder GG is clear, fresh and aromatic on the nose that displays clear, ripe and fresh, well-concentrated and spicy red berry aromas. Silky, lush and very elegant on the palate, with a lot of charm and intensity, this is a refreshing, pure and vital, well-concentrated but not extracted Pinot that reminds me of Benedikt Baltes's style, but the wines are from limestone rather than sandstone. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2019.

The 2016 Bienenberg Sp?tburgunder GG is pure and fresh on the nose, showing wild red and dark berries along with cherries and a nice toasty flavor. Silky, fresh and finessed on the palate, this is a highly delicate but seriously structured Pinot with a good and intense, stimulatingly grippy finish. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2018.

Julian Huber's 2015 Bienenberg Sp?tburgunder GG shows a lovely, vital ruby red color and opens a bit reductive still, with a clear, fresh and well-defined bouquet of red fruits, crushed stones and spicy and floral aromas. It is a full-bodied, firm, fresh and finessed Pinot Noir with a serious tannin structure and persistent vitality. This is a terribly clear and precise Pinot, and the finish is really cleansing and stimulating. Tasted at the "VDP Grosses Gew?chs" presentation in Wiesbaden, August 2017.
