The only 1994 wine from Brundlmayer that could be considered slightly sweet is the 1994 Riesling Zobinger Heiligenstein Auslese. The nose reveals loads of honeyed ripe fruit, and in the mouth there is a sensation of sweetness, but the wine is dominated by its intense fruit, underlying mineral component, and medium to full-bodied, long, ripe finish. One of Austria's most renowned producers, Brundlmayer's 1994s offer intense levels of fruit in a dry, medium-bodied, highly extracted, gorgeously well-delineated style. The only sweet wine is the 1994 Riesling Auslese Zobinger Heiligenstein. The beautiful purity and precision of the Brundlmayer wines make them among my favorite Austrian offerings.
