This is a big, gutsy, muscular Merlot marked by hard, dry tannins. That doesn’t mean it’s not rich. It is, in black cherries, black currants, mocha and oak, but it remains a tough, hard wine despite being nearly six years old. Not going anywhere.——S.H.(5/1/2010)—— 85

Pretty and polished, this Merlot has well-ripened cherry, cocoa and blackberry flavors, with a nice swoosh of wintergreen. It’s dry, with decent acids, and is quite balanced. Will make a good, versatile food wine. ——S.H.(12/1/2005)—— 87
