The 2021 V & A Lane Shiraz is effusive on the nose, with notes of licorice, blood, meat, bitter cocoa, black cherry and black olive tapenade. In the mouth, the fruit is woven into a mellifluous (but firm/assertive) flow of tannin, while the flavors here remain consistent with the aromatics. It is long, lingering and fierce right now. The length and shape insist that this will be a graceful wine in time, but for now, it's all arms, legs and friskiness. I have faith in the vineyards, viticulture and winemaking at Wynns, so my advice is patience. 12.7% alcohol, sealed under screw cap
