The 2007 Cotes du Rhone-Villages Bec Fins (also an equal part blend of Grenache and Syrah aged in old wood) is made in a more elegant, Burgundian-like style with notes of forest floor, red cherries, black currants, and hints of pen ink, underbrush, and woodsy aromas. This well-made, medium-bodied red is ideal for drinking over the next several years. This wine is a super bargain. This partial look at the Tardieu-Laurent portfolio concentrates on the value-priced offerings from the southern Rhone.
