There are a whopping 100,000 bottles of the delicious, light-bodied, super-aromatic 1999 Pino Toi (a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Tocai, and Chardonnay). It provides an excellent lesson in the balance between ripe, delicately nuanced fruit, light body, and zesty acidity. While this seems like an easy combination to achieve, too often these efforts are bland, diluted, or excessively acidified. This is a terrific, delicious, dry white that would go beautifully with fried calamari ... or for that matter, fried anything. Drink it over the next 8-12 months.
