The white pepper and lychee nut-scented 1999 Gewurztraminer Sonnenglanz is medium-bodied and satin-textured. While not boisterous, this wine has enormous amounts of fruit, mostly white berries, currants, pears, and apples in its well-balanced character. It is soft, expressive, and juicy. Drink it over the next 6-7 years. Importers: European Cellars (Eric Solomon), New York, NY; tel. (212) 924-4949.
