The 2009 Auxey Duresses shows quite a bit of tension and focus. Clean, mineral notes frame a bright core of fruit. The balance of ripeness and minerality is nicely done here. This is a solid showing among its peers. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. Benjamin Leroux is quite and unassuming, but his wines more than speak for themselves. I tasted a wide range of 2010s, but was only able to revisit a handful of 2009s, as production is just a barrel or two for most wines.
