This well-respected producer is celebrating twenty-seven years of estate wines, and the 2011 Crozes-Hermitage Blanc may be the finest white wine I have yet tasted from Alain Graillot. A blend of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, it is a delicious, flowery, mineral-scented effort with hints of rose petals, caramelized citrus and green apple skins. Made in a medium-bodied, zesty, fresh, lively style, it should be very flexible with an assortment of cuisines if drunk over the next 2-4 years.
