The 2009 Goliardo Louereiro is made from 100% Louereiro from 100-year-old vines. It is an obscure indigenous varietal from Rias Baixas better known as a white grape than a red. The wine spent 12 months in 8-year-old barriques. Peppery, herbal, and pomegranate aromas lead to a uniquely flavored wine with excellent depth and concentration. It will have obvious appeal to master sommeliers looking for new and different wines to place on a list, but there is so little produced (125 cases) that the general public will need a reservation to try it.
