Beringer has jumped into the Etruscan Ranger sweepstakes with two Sangiovese offerings. Both the 1994 and 1995 have been blended with a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc (about 10%). The medium ruby-colored 1994 Sangiovese reveals a textbook, strawberry, cherry, new saddle leather-scented nose, medium body, crisp underlying acidity, and a dry, refreshing finish, with Chianti-like sour cherry notes. Drink this mid-weight Sangiovese over the next 3-4 years. This exceptionally well-run winery continues its impressive display of high quality wines in all price ranges and varietal categories.Tel.
