The 2005 Vacqueyras Cuvee de l’Hostellerie (75% Grenache and 25% Syrah, aged in concrete tanks) is potentially oustanding, with a dark ruby/purple color, big, peppery, sweet plum, prune, and cassis notes as well as sweet tannins, full body, and heady levels of concentration and glycerin. This is a beauty to drink over the next decade. Eric Solomon, European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel. (704) 358-1565
