The 2009 CUNE Reserva is darker than the Crianzas and has a mixture of red and black fruit in the nose, seems more serious and riper, probably the effect of a warmer vintage. The medium-bodied palate has a good balance between fruit and acidity but ends a little dry. This is a very good Reserva. Drink 2014-2018.
CVNE seems to have improved its basic range of wines in the last few years, which is very good news, as they seem to be readily available and with attractive prices. The Imperial Gran Reserva is back at the helm of quality.
