The 2006 Pinot Noir Hawk’s View Vineyard is dark ruby-colored with a reticent nose in which spice box, black cherry, and black raspberry notes eventually emerge. This is one of the more structured of the 2006 offerings with excellent depth and grip. Allow for another 2-3 years in the bottle and drink it from 2011 to 2020. Although the Hawks View Vineyard bottling remains one of the lighter wines from Torii Mor, in 2006 it feels riper than the aggressively green 2005. The fruit is tight and tart, but tasty and leading from cranberry to wild strawberry and raspberry. There is plenty of acid and it is so young and tight that it is entirely possible that this wine will blossom with bottle age.——P.G.(10/1/2008)—— 88
