Laurent's top 1993s are massively concentrated, huge, intense wines that will require 8-10 years of cellaring. There are several wines from the Cote de Beaune that merit significant interest. The Beaune Premier Cru Vieilles Vignes is forward and flattering. A dramatic nose of crushed red and black fruits, minerals, and spice is followed by a full-bodied, moderately tannic wine with sweet fruit, and fine structure and concentration. It needs 4-5 years of cellaring and should age well for 12-15 years.
