The 1999 Cuvee du Clos (100% Syrah from yields of 17-18 hectoliters per hectare) reveals a black/purple color, with roasted herb, chocolate, and espresso notes in its blackberry/kirsch-scented bouquet. Super-extracted, rich, powerful, and full-bodied, this 1999 will be at its peak between 2003-2015. This is a very impressive, unfiltered wine with a style not dissimilar from, but even more concentrated than some of the blockbuster vintages of Chateau de Fonsalette.
