The flagship 2006 Tares P3 comes from a single parcel called Pagos Tres (hence P3) with vines ranging in age from 80 to 100 years. The wine went through malolactic fermentation in new French oak where it remained for another 15 months. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it sports an alluring bouquet of wood smoke, mineral, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry. Loaded on the palate with a plush texture, this impeccably balanced, lengthy effort will evolve for 2-3 years and provide enjoyment through 2021 if not longer.
The latest releases from Dominio de Tares are uniformly outstanding.
