Bethel Heights is one of Oregon's finest wineries and their three 1993 Pinot Noirs, while surprisingly more tannic and structured than most Oregon wines from that vintage, are also concentrated and promising. The 1993 Pinot Noir Flat Block Reserve is the most concentrated wine of this trio, as well as the most closed. The healthy medium ruby color is followed by a concentrated wine exhibiting oaky, black cherry fruit, moderate tannin, and an ample, mouthfilling finish. This wine will be even better after another year of cellaring; it should last for a decade. Tel. (503) 581-2262
