The 2013 Pinot Noir Eileen was picked as soon as it could after the September storm, still 20 days after the Louise Vineyard. It has a clean and fresh red cherry and strawberry scented bouquet that displays fine tension. The palate is fresh on the entry with bright red cherry and strawberry notes, though the mid-palate feels a little hard at the moment and probably lacks the flesh that it might have had in 2012 and 2014. It is still balanced and clean, an achievement given the growing season, but it feels just deprived of some persistence on the finish.
