The 2004 Cotes du Rhone La Dame Rousse (40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 15% Cinsault, and the rest Carignan and Counoise) displays terrific black cherry and blackberry fruit, some licorice, spice box, good underlying crisp acidity, and medium body. It is a serious Cotes du Rhone to drink over the next 3-4 years. This is a rose that requires the consumption of food.
