The 2012 Juan Gil, which used to be known as "12 Meses" because the wine ages in oak barrels for 12 months, is wearing a silver label. The wine is fruit-driven and it has a lot less oak than it used to. The nose shows berries, raisins and plums with a spicy touch from a very ripe vintage. It has an overtly sweet palate, which makes it a little cloying with the oak making an appearance in the form of dry tannins toward the end. 360,000 bottles.
