The 2005 Olmo’s Reward is a blend of 55% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Franc, with the balance Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Opaque purple-colored, it exhibits none of the green, herbal notes that the Bordeaux varieties often display when grown in Western Australia. Notes of spice box, damp earth, espresso, plum, and black currant lead to a round, racy, structured wine that has 3-5 years of aging potential. Drink this lengthy effort from 2013 to 2025. Frankland Estate is one of Australia’s premier purveyors of Dry Riesling. The 2008 releases are uniformly outstanding.Importer: John Larchet, The Australian Premium Wine Collection; www.tapwc.com.au
