(an old-vines blend of 38% malbec, 26% cabernet franc, 23% merlot, 10% cabernet sauvignon and 3% petit verdot, reportedly cropped at just 18 hectoliters per hectare): Good medium ruby. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, blueberry and licorice. Concentrated, juicy and tightly wound, with a slightly high-toned character to the flavors of crushed blackberry, minerals, licorice and bitter chocolate. Almost tart today, this firm, vibrant, very young wine needs time in bottle and may ultimately merit an outstanding rating.
