Maret's 1991 Blanc was, again, one of the best wines in my tastings, the second straight year where it placed well above the competition. While most white Chateauneufs have a tendency to be one-dimensional and insipid, such was not the case with this elegant wine. Exhibiting a spicy, floral-scented nose, and soft, attractive, fruit salad-like flavors that are offered in a medium to full-bodied format, it should be drunk over the next year. Some attention from an American importer would seem warranted.
