The 2016 Les Comes d'Orto is a red blend of 50% Garnacha with 45% Cari?ena and 5% Ull de Llebre from a very dry year with 13.85% alcohol and a nice balance between tannins and acidity. It fermented in open-top 500-liter oak barrels and matured in French barrique for 12 months. The 2016 vintage is a little lighter and fresher but with good concentration and ripeness. It's characterful, with some lovely rusticity, and it comes through as very authentic. 2,600 bottles and 36 magnums were filled in May 2018.
