This is the debut vintage of this 100% Tinto de Toro (the local name for Tempranillo) cuvee. Made from minuscule yields of 15-20 hectoliters per hectare, and a 12-month upbringing in both French and American oak, this opaque purple-colored Toro exhibits superb blackberry and cassis fruit with hints of smoke, chocolate, and underbrush in the background. Medium to full-bodied with exceptional purity as well as density, and a lush, flashy personality, it is already delicious, and should continue to drink well for 5-6 years.Importer: Eric Solomon, European Selections, Charlotte, NC; tel.
