The dense purple-hued 2006 Syrah Rattlesnake Rock exhibits high tannins as well as a primary character, and its component parts are not yet fully assimilated. There is plenty of intensity, power, and rich blackberry fruit intermixed with some minerality and damp earth, but the wine is backward and unevolved.
At present, these three wines reveal a certain disjointedness suggestive of young barrel samples.
