Spicy/earthy cherries can be discerned in the ruby-colored 1997 Charmes-Chambertin's delightful aromatics. While not Seysses' most complex wine, it is elegant, lush, and lively. Concentrated layers of black fruits are intermingled with red berries, stones, and Asian spices in its character as well as in its 30+ second finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2008.
