An exceptionally well-structured, elegant Merlot that would have been better if not for the vintage, which was less than stellar. Not fully ripe, the wine shows herb- and tobacco-influenced black cherry, blackberry, red currant and oak flavors, with complex notes of licorice, bacon and black pepper.
